Welcome!

It’s finally here.  It has been a long time in the making.  No really, I have been talking about it for ages.  There are notebooks and notebooks filled with scribble and notes and ideas and recipes.  I thought long and hard about it all.  Would I be able to do it?  Would people want to read it?  How would I feel if no one wanted to read it?  Do I have anything worth saying that should be shared across the www? And so on and so on.  Hours of research about what makes a good blog and how to write and what to write and don’t ramble and don’t write long posts and proof read, proof read, proof read.  Do this.  Don’t do that.

Well in spite of my better judgment I finally just said “Go for it!”  I’ll learn as I go, give it the ol’ college try and hope for the best.  If it does well then hey great and well, if it doesn’t then at least I tried and I would know this isn’t my forte.  So after painstakingly finding a name I like that also happened to have the available URL for purchase, here I am.

Living the Savory life is meant to be a journey of life.  My life and how I choose to live it.  The plan is to include travel stories and random antics as they happen or have happened over the years.  As you will for sure quickly learn, much of my life is about the joy of food and expressing myself through satisfying meals.  I intend to share my recipes with you as they come about.  Now, I will be completely up front and honest about my cooking ability.  I am not formally educated in culinary arts and I have not worked extensively around the world for the best chefs out there.  I am a home cook who has been cooking for the majority of my more than three decade old life.  Thanks to two wonderful parents I was exposed to the wonderful world of food (and cooking) from a young age.  The long and short of it is, I love to cook.  It is my passion.  And honestly, I think I’m pretty good at it.  I also happen to think I have something to share and contribute and look forward to doing it here.  I hope you come to agree.

This will be a work in progress and it will take time for me to arrive at a writing style that works.  Believe me, it all sounds really good in my head, but once it is on paper (or screen) it doesn’t always have the same grace and elegance as previously imagined!  I hope you stick with me for a bit and watch it all develop into something really great.  It is a much anticipated journey I’m so excited to begin!
